Our Coaches are off-duty Main Line area police officers. They are experts in the field of safe driving as well as approachable, professional and trustworthy. You can have peace of mind knowing that your new driver is getting the best instruction possible by experts who know our local traffic patterns and road hazards. Our Cars
Your teen’s safety is your top priority; it is ours as well. When your teens are on the road with us, we want them to be in the safest cars possible. That’s why we chose the Audi A4 as the official training car of Street Smart. The Audi A4 is consistently rated a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and other respected traffic safety organizations. The A4 is equipped with the latest safety features such as side impact airbags, Electronic Stability Control and more.
Our Program
Street Smart believes in hands-on, active learning. That’s why we emphasize more behind-the-wheel training, active participation in classroom activities and proactive (as opposed to reactive) driving strategies.
Behind-the-Wheel Training
There is no substitute for experience. That’s why we recommend Private Coaching Sessions in a wide variety of driving situations. Let us expose your teen to demanding situations such as nighttime, highway, and city driving under the guidance of our expert coaches and in the safety of our specially equipped training cars. We offer driving instruction using your choice of manual or automatic transmission. Behind-the-Wheel Training is offered 7 days a week, during day and evening hours.
Virtual Driving Simulators

Collision Avoidance Techniques (CAT) Clinic
We encourage teens to gain additional experience in our CAT Clinic. The CAT Clinic teaches students the skills they need in emergency situations such as obstacle avoidance, off-shoulder recovery and controlled braking.
Classroom Teaching
Field trips, guest speakers, demonstrations, special equipment and games actively engage teens and enhance the learning environment. Street Smart uses the most current, high-tech teaching materials and tools available, such as TeamBoard® and advanced driving simulators. Street Smart is just a click away – once enrolled in the program, students can access and review the classroom information on-line, anytime.
Our Support for the Whole Family
Street Smart strives to minimize the stress associated with teaching teens to drive.
That’s why we offer:
- 24/7 online access to our experts to answer questions and address issues.
- Information and guidance to help parents adjust to driving with their teen.
- Written and verbal feedback to parents and teens regarding the teen’s progress in mastering specific skills behind-the-wheel.
- An optional behind-the-wheel Parent Coaching Session to show parents how to guide teens as new drivers, identify their own unsafe driving habits, as well as teach parents the latest driving techniques.
- An optional Collision Avoidance Techniques (CAT) Clinic for parents.
- A refresher class at no charge for Street Smart graduates who want to brush-up on their skills anytime within the first year of getting their license.
