We offer this program as a foundation for safe driving. Although 30 classroom hours are standard, you won’t find outdated videos, boring textbooks or simplistic handouts in our classroom. Instead we use virtual driving simulators, TeamBoard®, group activities, field trips, demonstrations and guest speakers to make learning meaningful, memorable and as much fun as possible. Also included are the standard 6 hours of on road Private Coaching Sessions. But keep in mind that 6 hours just scratches the surface of the skills a new driver needs to master. We encourage you to add on to this program through additional Private Coaching Sessions to give your teen a wide variety of experience in a safe, controlled training environment.

We’ve developed this program as the optimal way to prepare teens for driving on today’s challenging roads. Our Premier Program gives teens the basics they need in the classroom then shifts the focus to gaining experience on the road in a wide variety of driving situations including city, night time, highways, turnpike, bridges, construction zones and rural settings. Plus, we include training in emergency situations such as obstacle avoidance and braking techniques through our CAT Clinic. This is a great way for teens to gain the experience they need in the safest, most controlled environment possible – in our specially equipped training cars with our Professional Driving Coaches. It’s also a good option for parents who want to decrease the stress associated with introducing teen drivers to high pressure driving situations.

This program helps increase the likelihood of a teen passing the driving test and reduces stress for both parents and teens. When teens know what to expect during the driving test, they are more relaxed and confident, which increases their chance of success. During the first session, teens practice test procedures, parallel parking and driving the test route at the DMV where the student is taking the test. During the second session, the coach takes the student to the DMV for the actual test.

In addition, we can take care of scheduling the test date and time as well as all necessary paper work. We provide this service as a convenience to our Street Smart families. However, please keep in mind that our primary goal is to ensure that our students have the skills and strategies to survive on the road, not just to pass a 5 minute test at the DMV.

You can choose the number of Private Coaching Sessions that’s right for your situation. And because you will receive feedback about your teen’s progress after every Private Coaching Session, you will have a good idea whether the number of sessions you selected is appropriate. If not, you can always add more Private Coaching Sessions at a later date.

But remember, experience is the key to becoming a safer, smarter driver so we recommend adding Private Coaching Sessions to this selection.

We recommend this clinic once students have mastered basic driving skills. In panic situations, people often forget what to do. That’s why it’s important to practice emergency maneuvers repeatedly until they become automatic. We keep the Clinic size small (no more than 6 students per clinic) to give each driver the chance to repeat the drills until they master each skill. Skills such as emergency braking, obstacle avoidance, backing techniques and quick lane change are covered.

$300 per four-hour clinic

It’s not that parents don’t mean well. It’s just that most parents aren’t coaches, so teaching their teens to drive is often a negative and stressful experience. In the Parent Coaching Session, our Coaches give parents the same coaching tips, strategies and methods we use to help decrease stress and increase success when riding with new teen drivers. In addition, we identify and correct any unsafe habits parents have to make sure they are good role models for their teens.
